Alexander Deussen (1882-1959), a petroleum geologist, donated a 309-acre site on Lake Houston to Harris County in 1956. The site was converted into a public park and named the Alexander Deussen Park.

  • Specific Park Rules
    • Alcohol is permitted inside the park only with security. Alcohol is not permitted in the Non-Rental Shelters, see Shelters.

    • Overnight camping is permitted in the park. Inquiries about overnight camping may be obtained by calling the Precinct One Reservation Department at 713.440.1587. Security is required for all overnight camping.

    • Pets are allowed, they must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
