Alexander Deussen (1882-1959),
a petroleum geologist, donated a 309-acre site on Lake
Houston to Harris County in 1956. The site was converted
into a public park and named the Alexander Deussen Park.

Alcohol is permitted inside the park only with security. Alcohol
is not permitted in the Non-Rental Shelters, see
Shelters.

Overnight camping is
permitted in the park. Inquiries about overnight camping may be
obtained by calling the Precinct One Reservation
Department at 713.440.1587. Security is required for all
overnight camping.

Pets are allowed, they
must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
